Night Out is an original romantic city oil painting featuring a couple sharing a quiet moment beneath glowing streetlights at night.
I wanted to give the scene a cinematic feeling, with the figures silhouetted against the warm golden light of the city.
The reflections across the pavement, evening atmosphere and old-fashioned street lighting help create a sense of intimacy, while the couple remain the main focus of the painting.
I particularly enjoy painting scenes like this where light and figures suggest a story without explaining exactly what has happened before or after the moment.
