Golden Twilight on the Homestead is an original oil painting of a peaceful American rural landscape at sunset.
A young girl stands with her horse in an open field as the last light of the day falls across the countryside. In the distance, the homestead sits beneath a sky of soft pinks, oranges and warm evening clouds.
I wanted the painting to have a nostalgic, quiet feeling — a simple moment of country life at the end of the day. The warm sunset contrasts with the cooler landscape and helps draw attention to the girl and horse.
I especially enjoy painting scenes like this because they combine landscape, storytelling and a sense of memory.
