Ocean Voyage is an original sailboat seascape oil painting, featuring a white sailing boat moving across lively blue water beneath a bright, cloud-filled sky.
I wanted to capture the feeling of being out on the open water, with the wind filling the sails and movement in the waves below.
The white boat stands out against the blues of the sea and sky, while the changing clouds and reflected light help give the scene a fresh, open atmosphere.
I particularly enjoy painting the sea because the constantly changing light and movement allow for a lot of freedom with colour and brushwork.
