Spring Coast is an original colourful coastal oil painting featuring children flying kites beside a lighthouse and a row of bright seaside houses.
I wanted this painting to capture the freshness of a bright spring day by the sea, using an open sky, colourful buildings and small figures to create a cheerful sense of space and movement.
The children and their kites add a little story to the scene, while the lighthouse provides a strong focal point against the coast and sky. I particularly enjoyed using the brighter colours here to give the painting an uplifting, slightly nostalgic character.
