A Highland Home is an original Scottish landscape oil painting depicting a quiet moment of rural Highland life.
A girl stands on the path with a sheepdog, looking across the fields towards a stone cottage and the hills beyond.
I wanted the landscape to feel spacious and peaceful, concentrating on the light and the simple relationship between the figures, animals and the land around them.
Scottish rural scenes are a subject I return to often, particularly small everyday moments that suggest a story without needing to explain everything happening within the scene.
