Lochside Memories is an original Scottish folk art landscape oil painting inspired by the colour, traditions and everyday pleasures of Highland life.
A brilliant blue loch winds between rolling mountains beneath a wide summer sky, while sailing boats move across the water. Closer to the cottage, children gather outside, a tartan blanket hangs in the sunshine, a Highland cow wanders through the meadow and a piper stands proudly in the foreground.
Rather than depicting one particular location, I wanted to create an imagined Scotland filled with warmth and nostalgia — the sort of place that somehow feels familiar even if you have never been there.
