The Dancers is an original romantic figurative oil painting featuring a couple dancing together outdoors beneath an atmospheric sky.
The woman’s vivid red dress immediately caught my interest when developing the composition, and I used the strong colour to make the couple the focal point of the painting.
I wanted the scene to capture a spontaneous and intimate moment rather than a formal dance performance. The sunlight, movement of the figures and dramatic clouds help give the painting a sense of romance and freedom.
