The Sound of Music is an original film-inspired oil painting featuring Maria and the Von Trapp family together against the dramatic Austrian Alps.
The Sound of Music has long been one of my favourite films and stage musicals, and I painted this scene as my own tribute to its characters, music and memorable Alpine setting.
I wanted the family to remain the focus while giving the mountains enough scale and presence to capture the sense of landscape that is such an important part of the film.
