Red Umbrella is an original rainy city oil painting featuring a woman walking alone through a grey urban street beneath a vivid red umbrella.
I wanted the umbrella to become the main focal point of the painting, standing out strongly against the softer greys and whites of the rainy city.
Rainy streets are a subject I return to often because the muted light, reflections and atmosphere allow a small amount of strong colour to have a much greater impact.
