The Wind Carries the News is an original rainy city oil painting capturing a fleeting moment on a wet and windy evening.
A woman rushes along the street as the wind catches her coat and blows her umbrella away, forcing her to reach out and grab it. Newspapers scatter across the road while a tram, passing figures and reflections bring movement to the scene.
I particularly enjoyed contrasting the cool blues of the rain with the warm light coming from the café. I wanted the painting to feel like a brief moment caught in the middle of an ordinary city evening.
