Standing beside the canal with his palette and brush in hand, he studies the elegant buildings, gondolas and distant church domes before making his first brushstroke.
I wanted to portray that quiet moment of anticipation when Canaletto stands before a blank canvas, surrounded by inspiration and ready to transform what he sees into a work of art.
