A Spoonful of Sugar is an original oil painting inspired by the much-loved Mary Poppins story, featuring Mary with the Banks children gathered around the window.
I wanted to capture one of those warm, nostalgic moments associated with the story, with the window framing the figures and helping create the feeling of looking into a scene from another time.
The painting combines my interest in classic films and stories with the atmospheric interiors and narrative scenes that I enjoy painting.
