Winter Fox is an original wildlife oil painting featuring a fox standing quietly in a snowy landscape beneath a full moon.
I wanted to create a peaceful winter scene with a slightly mysterious atmosphere, using the moonlight to illuminate the snow and draw attention to the fox.
The cool colours of the landscape contrast with the warmer tones of the animal, making the fox the natural focal point while still allowing it to feel part of the surrounding winter landscape.
I particularly enjoy painting winter scenes because the snow and low light allow for strong contrasts and a quieter, more atmospheric feeling.
